Grounded in Legacy. Built for the Future.

Heartland

What our name means

The name Koorta Boodjar means “Heartland.”

It reflects our connection to Country, family and community, and the belief that strong businesses are built through strong relationships.

The cultural foundation of Koorta Boodjar comes from Senior Bibbulmun Elder Ken Colbung AM, MBE (Dec.), whose lifelong commitment to Noongar culture, cultural heritage, community and Aboriginal advancement continues to influence the business today.

His legacy is carried forward through his family, who remain directly involved in the ownership, leadership and cultural direction of Koorta Boodjar.

How we work

Culture and Commercial Capability

Our cultural foundation is an important part of who we are, but Koorta Boodjar has also been established to perform as a professional and commercially capable workforce partner.

We understand the expectations of major construction, infrastructure and resources projects.

Clients need reliable people, responsive service, strong safety systems, clear communication and confidence that the workforce arriving on their project has been properly screened and prepared.

That is the standard we aim to deliver.

Why we exist

Creating Opportunity

Employment has the ability to create lasting change.

A job can build skills, confidence and independence. A career can strengthen families and communities for generations.

Koorta Boodjar seeks to create genuine pathways into construction and resources while also providing opportunities for experienced workers to continue developing their careers across some of Western Australia’s major industries.

For our clients, this creates an opportunity to work with an Aboriginal-owned company while accessing a capable, flexible and professionally managed workforce.

What we stand for

Opportunity

We believe meaningful employment creates stronger futures.

We believe strong people create strong families, strong communities and stronger industries.
